Like every mom, Tara Verkuil wanted to give her daughter the very best. Tara had been leading a “green” lifestyle, or so she thought. But when she stocked her nursery with baby products, she discovered that there were many ingredients she couldn’t pronounce. That’s when she decided that she could do better, both for her daughter, and the environment.

You’ll find just about everything, from cleansers and cosmetics to fragrance, sun block, and hair care. “I tried products,” she says. “I did the research. But the line that Tara’s most proud of is the one she created, with her own daughter in mind, Eco Princess. Aware that her daughter, now in elementary school, was showing an interest in makeup, Tara didn’t want her using the toxic play makeup found in most toy stores. So she created a play makeup set with all natural ingredients, as well as a water-based, chemical free nail polish, that dries quickly and peels off with warm water.
