Tehiyah is a progressive, pluralistic Jewish community day school with students in Bridge-Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Description
Tehiyah is a diverse, nurturing community warmly embraces all families. Our school’s outstanding academic program and values-based education are offered in a supportive environment. Our hands-on, project-oriented curriculum is enhanced by art, music, drama, computer science, athletics, field trips and afternoon enrichment classes. Tehiyah's small classes allow our dedicated faculty to focus on the individual needs and growth of each learner. Tehiyah’s joyful celebration and meaningful exploration of Judaism’s teachings includes Hebrew as a living language at every grade level. We are proud to have been one of two California private schools chosen as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School in the "Highly Exemplary Performing School" category!

Everything we were looking for in a school
Tehiyah has been a wonderful experience for our children, and even more so, a wonderful experience for our whole family.
The teachers are caring and thoughtful and place a lot of emphasis on teaching the kids to be responsible human beings. The school was also one of two private schools in California to be awarded the Blue Ribbon Award for academic excellence from the Department of Education.
The after school program also has cooking classes, violin, piano and drumming lessons and a whole bunch of different sports, including yoga. They have an undefeated football team, to boot.
We also appreciate the religious education our children are receiving at Tehiyah. It has been a wonderful combination of tradition and spirituality, historical knowledge and morality. For a private Jewish day school, Tehiyah also has a very diverse faculty and student body, as well.
It's been wonderful to have a place like Tehiyah for our children to go to, to grow and thrive.

Grateful Alum Family
One day, long long ago, I dropped my second-grader off one morning, unhappy about something I no longer recall. Reluctant to leave, I watched her walk across the playing field toward her classroom. Another adult, whom I did not know, walked along side my daughter and gently put her arm around her and asked her how she, with such kindness, and my daughter leaned into her and relaxed with such a sense of security and comfort - I still remember tthis all these years later, and that moment so typified our Tehiyah experience. Now our daughter is thriving in college, still deeply connected to her three best TDS friends and teachers. Both our kids received an outstanding education and exceptional opportunities that have well-prepared them for high school and now college. And a special bonus, as Adam mentioned in his review, friends for life. So grateful to have had Tehiyah as a daily part my children's early life experience.

Parent of recent graduate and current student
Our kids have felt very comfortable at Tehiyah, encouraged by their teachers and happy with their friends. Our son graduated recently and is well-prepared for high school. Our daughter looks forward to school every day. Their teachers have been effective, committed, caring and inspiring. The school's program is very strong, providing a thoughtful balance of general studies and Judaic studies. We have also benefited from Tehiyah's strong community and have made some of our closest friendships with parents at the school.
